Pepper Whole genome sequencing data

This project aims to uncover the molecular basis underlying shoot regeneration recalcitrance in pepper by identifying key genetic determinants that control regeneration capacity. Through comparative analysis of contrasting genotypes, we identified a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in CaPAT1 that restores the structural integrity of the encoded protein by generating a full-length GRAS domain. Functional analyses revealed that this structural restoration enhances protein dimerization and nuclear localization, thereby promoting shoot regeneration and significantly improving transformation efficiency across diverse pepper genotypes.
