Crop Wild Relatives (CWR) are important genetic resources that provide valuable traits for crop improvement and cultivar development. This study aims to establish a fundamental dataset for cataloging major CWR distributed in Korea and analyzing their phylogenetic relationships. The chloroplast is a key organelle in plant cells that plays an essential role in photosynthesis and various metabolic pathways. In particular, the chloroplast genome evolves more slowly than the nuclear genome and is maternally inherited, making it a reliable marker for species classification and phylogenetic analysis. In this study, we aim to sequence and analyze the complete chloroplast genomes of major crop wild relatives to investigate their phylogenetic relationships and taxonomic characteristics. The resulting data will serve as a valuable resource for future research on the conservation of genetic diversity, cultivar development, and the discovery of useful genes in crop wild relatives.
