The phyllosphere of plants hosts numerous microorganisms that promote plant growth. Methylobacterium oryzae CBMB20T is a facultative methylotrophic bacterium isolated from the stem of rice in Korea (PMID: 17267973). Through the 21C Frontier Microbial Genomics and Applications Center Program, its complete genome sequence, consisting of a 6.3 Mb chromosome and four plasmids, was determined (PMID: 25211235, GenBank: CP003811, JX627580-3). This BioProject aims to provide a portion of the preserved data (454 & Illumina) used in the genome sequencing.
